Having previously enjoyed several Tanzania safaris staying in lodges, plan for a vacation holiday staying at a tented camp and if its visiting southern Tanzania ciruit, Kigelia is your answer thought your stay at Ruaha National Park. The camp is well situated, very comfortable and gives taste of what every guest imagine being a singularly authentic African experience. However, the camp is sited on the Ifuguru sand river to the east of the reserve. This luxury mobile camp is used by a number of guests and all enjoy every guests get great experience from the tents to the well appointed mess facilities, all in traditional African safari style. Back at the camp, delicious meals are served in the dining area or out in the open by the camp fire. There is also plenty of choice of dishes and dinner is a 3 course affair, good selection of wines to accompany the meals. There is a library with a range of reference books. Sand paths link the guests’ tents to the main living and dining area. Sundowners are served each evening by the camp fire where guests can relax and chat over the day’s events.
Kigelia Camp is a really lovely and intimate little place, with a reputation for high quality guiding and almost certainly providing the most authentic safari experience in the reserve, although at a relatively premium price. Thus, game drive vehicles are fully equipped with reference books, binoculars and drinks and picnics can be arranged should you wish to take the opportunity to spend a full day exploring this dynamic ecosystem. You will also be able to enjoy walking safaris where you will be accompanied by a highly experienced ranger from the National Park.
